More then 300 guests during HotelloTOP Year Event Germany!

To create a network of Hotellos across nations and generations – that’s what HotelloTOP aims for. It acts as a meeting point for students, graduates, and partners from the hospitality field to share knowledge and experience.

For the first time this year, the HotelloTOP Year Event took place on the second exhibition day of the Best of Events in Dortmund, Germany on January 19th and made for a thrilling conclusion of the fair. Within the past five years, the event has developed from a newcomer to a must-see within the field. With heart and soul, commitment, and the courage to take risks, we raise higher year after year.

DNA Hospitality – with heart and soul towards success was this year’s motto. What constitutes for our passion, where does the enthusiasm come from? How can we use it as a source of strength to takes us further on a professional level? When passion leads to happiness – it’s our dedication that leads us to fulfilment on our career paths. How do we build the bridges further to a fulfilled personal life?

These questions have been discussed on said Thursday in our traditional HotelloTOP Arena with inspiring guests such as Carla Stockheim (Creative Development Director Stockheim Group), Till Riekenbrauk (founder and director of the restaurant Laden Ein in Cologne) and David Etmenan (CEO and owner of the Novum Group).

There’s no question about it: Things don’t always go according to plan, which can subdue our fiery passion. But us Hotellos cannot let that take us down, after all it’s the heat that drives our steam engines. “Ever since I was 18 I’ve been working in hospitality, so 12 years by now. For me, one thing is clear: heart and soul are crucial for success.”, says Till Riekenbrauk. Carla Stockheim on the other hand, as a young creative director, cannot find a straight answer whether she has “only” inherited the hospitality-gene from her parents or if there’s another drive.

We went further into the matter with keynotes by renowned speakers like Herman Konings (international trendwatcher at Pocket Marketing/nXt) and Jochen Oehler (CEO progros purchasing and consulting company). Herman Konings provided an insight to recent challenges in the hospitality field and inspired with upcoming trends, while Jochen Oehler dared to take an excursion to the day to day business in sales.

As in the years before, emphasis was put on creating an opportunity to make personal contact with peers from the hospitality field. Besides the informal exchange of experience, participants had the opportunity to meet on a personal base at the HotelloTOP networking stand with follow-up drinks.
