Get Real… Education. – Old School Vs. New School
The 11the edition of the EMCup will be held in hometown Maastricht at the 17th & 18th of February 2019. This years theme is “Get Real… Education”. Old School versus New School. Due to various factors like digitalisation, technological developments and globalisation, our world is changing more rapidly than ever before. And so is our industry! Hotel Management Schools play an essential role in the development of the industry, as they educate the industry leaders of the future. This made us wonder: what would hospitality management education look like, if industry professionals and students would re-design the curriculum, based on current developments, the needs of future students and their vision on education?
High Touch vs High Tech
The digital and technological revolution has been going on for a long time, but has significantly increased in speed during recent years. It has had great economic impact and without it, globalization would not have happened as fast as it did. The way companies interact with each other and with their customers has changed tremendously, as smaller companies suddenly gained access to much larger markets. In addition, thanks to decreasing technology costs, many innovations that impact our daily lives life were rapidly made possible.
